First time here at High 1 Ski resort, it’s absolutely great and exceeded my expectation! Very Big and loads of slopes for all level of skiers or snowboarders. Fabulous mountain views and well-designed slopes. This is certainly my top ski resort so far! Must come and explore this ski resort if you come to Korea!

The booking process and instructions provided from Trazy was very seamless, so no complaints there. Slopes: There are a great variety of slopes for all levels. I would say majority are red, but there are a few really long and wide green runs for beginners. The quality of the snow is very icy (the falls really hurt), but then again Korea is not known for its powder. The runs are clearly demarcated so you do not have to worry about running off-piste. The cable cars and ski lifts are well maintained and comfortable. Gear: We chose to snowboard so I can only speak for this experience and not the ski gear. The boots were visibly worn out and both my husband and myself had to ask for swaps as our boots could not tighten well (dangerous if not tightened and worn properly). The helmets are just thrown in a pile for you to select your size. Also the smell on these - you can tell they just roughly sprayed air freshener on these instead of properly cleaning/sanitising them. My board strap also loosened easily on the slopes and even came off once due to a loose latch. I've never had this experience in other ski resorts before so it was not great. Accommodation: We stayed at the Grand Hotel which was really fancy and nice. The view was amazing and the hotel was very well kept and had all the amenities we needed. Check out was originally 11am, but we paid 70000KRW for late check out at 4pm. The only downside is that it is the furthest away from the slopes but there is a free hotel-provided shuttle that goes exclusively between the Mountain Ski House and the hotel, which starts at 10am and ends at 5:30pm. Otherwise there is the main 3 shuttle buses that circle through the whole ski resort, which I will talk about later. Food: Most of the main cafeterias only serve around 2-5 dishes in a canteen style, and it is all standard Korean fare and is quite yummy. There are a number of fast food options (e.g. Mom's Touch, Quisnos, Pizza) around but the quality of the food is also not great. The outdoor snack bars are great, serving things like hotteok, sausages and odeng, which are great snacks mid-run. If you want, you can take the free shuttle bus into Gohan or Sabuk to eat, just don't miss the bus back to the resort. There is also one or two GS25 stores within High1 so that is an option if you prefer instant food. I believe there are also a number of other restaurants within the resort but we did not have time to try them. Buses: As mentioned, there are 3 main free shuttle buses that go to various stops around the ski resort. Do keep track of the timings as you may need to wait a large window of time if you miss the bus. The shuttle bus stops within High1 are quite clearly labelled so you should have no issue understanding where to wait for the bus. Two of the shuttle buses do go down respectively into the towns of Sabuk and Gohan, however these bus stops are not clearly labelled (no signage). We made the mistake of not checking which bus stop the shuttle would pick us from to go back to High1, the bus ended up bypassing us so we had to take a taxi back to the resort (the next shuttle back would be another 50 mins wait). Communication: The staff at the Grand Hotel could speak a good amount of English so we had no issue there. The ski resort however was a different story. I would say it is catered mainly to locals, so apart from directional signage, do not expect to have English instruction provided to you. We mostly used Google translate to figure out what different signs were saying (e.g. locker instructions). Staff also do not speak much English but they do their best to help out. Overall the resort was not a bad experience, but we probably would not go back because skiing is Korea does not suit us. But for the price, it is great value for money for those wanting a Korean ski/snowboard experience.

Overall, we really enjoyed this experience. High1 is a well-oiled machine and getting checked in and started were really straightforward. The staff were really helpful and friendly. There weren't many people around (Covid) and the resort was closing the day after we left (Covid restriction) so it was quite quiet. There were a couple of drawbacks - the coffee shop was closed for renovations and the indoor activities were all closed for covid related reasons. The major drawback was that there were only 2 slopes and a connector open while we were there. High1's map referenced 5 slopes as being open but they only get to 5 because they identify the top half and bottom half with different names. Even our 7 year old was looking for more of a challenge by day three. On the positive side, the snow condition was amazing at all times of the day/evening. We had lunch on the mountain on our full day which was good and not overly expensive (as has been our experience with on-mountain dining in North America). The resort options for food were limited with the covid restrictions but the fast-food options were convenient and we had brought enough supplies for breakfast/lunch/snacks. I would recommend this package (we are planning to go again).

We had a fun 3 day ski trip to High 1 as a family. Being used to skiing in the French Alps, we didn't know what to expect. I believe that we will go back to High 1 (with Trazy of course) but only after making sure that more slopes are going to be opened. What we liked: - Easy bus ride from Seoul (too bad that there is only a departure from Gangnam...) - Accommodation was spacious and well located next to the slopes (we were in Mountain Condominium in A dong) - The snow was good and the (few) slopes well maintained. - No wait at the lifts - Good food options at the various cafeteria and not too pricey. . The not so good: - Only two slopes were opened. If you are advanced skiers and used to skiing in the French Alps (like us) you can be frustrated doing the same two slopes over and over. Fortunately, both of them were long enough to have some fun. - The only two slopes opened were beginner and intermediate level.... Why didn't they open more slopes.... I don't understand. - They keep on announcing information in the speaker, over and over. They were also VERY strict about social distancing and the masks, I had a mask from Senegal and I guess they were not used to this type of mask and they kept on asking me to wear another mask. I had to wear another one on top of the first one. You felt watched at all times and it feels like a police state. Not so fun when you ski and you want to relax. - People on the slopes are serious as well and not many people were laughing... a different kind of fun I assume. Very different from skiing in Europe! - The room was SO hot. We opened the window at night. What could Trazy do to improve this trip. - Give more information regarding what to do when you first arrive 1. Take the Gondola to go to Mountain Condominium (better than waiting for the shuttle bus). 2 Go to the Check in center which is located 200 meters down the Mountain Condominium (not very logical) and received your tickets for your ski passes and rentals. 3. Go to Mountain condominium (Building C) to drop your luggage as you cannot get your key before 3pm. 4. Go to the ticket office to get your ski passes and rental equipment. - Also, Trazy, it would be great if you could have other departure location (why not Hongdae for example)

We had a great trip with Trazy! It was well-organised and so handy to have transportation and accommodation booked for us. Meeting location instructions were clear. We chose the 3D2N package as we were first-time skiiers and wanted more time on the slopes. We had lots of freedom to ski! The apartment was amazing and spacious, thoroughly enjoyed staying there. Equipment rental also wasn't too difficult. One thing I would suggest for improvement is clearer instructions on how to get to the condo as you need to take a gondola and we hadn't known that. I would also recommend leaving our luggage at the lockers as check-in was at the bottom of the slope and it was a hassle dragging the suitcase through the snow. Otherwise, we had a great trip to High1 and I would book with Trazy again!

The resort is a very big one. After we checked in, the receptionist drives us to the condominium. The condominium is fantastic, very big, clean and just like your home. And it is just a few step to the ski track and the cable car station, your can start skiing any time you like and go back to your room very easily. The package includes 3 days ski or snowboard equipment and lift car is very convenient. You can keep the equipment with you for 3 days and you can ski any time you like. This is my first time skiing, so I paid for 1 to 1 ski lesson, the teacher is very nice and he can talk a little English. After the 2 hours lesson, I can ski by my own on the next 2 days. This is a very fantastic experience! Will come again and Highly recommended.
