The tour is a great mix of culture, ocean views and local life, and overall I really enjoyed the day. The highlight for me was definitely Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, the dramatic cliffs, the sound of the waves and the calm atmosphere made the place feel almost unreal. What really elevated the experience, though, was our guide. She shared Korean history, religion and everyday culture in a very clear and thoughtful way, always checking if we understood and even recommending movies and topics to explore later. Her English was good, and even when some complex words were difficult, she could always explain the meaning with simple expressions. She also sent us the schedule and details by whatsApp before the tour, which was very helpful.
As a photographer, I also really appreciated how visually rich this itinerary is. I came home with many nice shots from the temple, Huinnyeoul Culture Village and the coast. The stop at Thrill On The Mug café was perfect: the huge window facing the sea, the cliffs and the soft afternoon light created exactly the kind of scene I love to capture, and at the same time it was a comfortable moment to slow down with a coffee. Yeongdo Haenyeo Village was another unforgettable part: learning about the haenyeo, recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, added a deep cultural layer to the day and made the dinner feel more meaningful, not just “a meal”. Personally, I would have preferred a bit less time at Gongsu Fishing Village and Olive Young, and more time in places like Nampo-dong and Huinnyeoul Culture Village to walk freely and shoot more. But that’s more about travel style, I’m someone who likes to explore fewer places more deeply. In general, the tour is very well organized and rich in experiences, and with a slightly slower pace in some spots it could be truly perfect.
