This is a picturesque town known for its brightly painted houses and a maze of twisting alleys. The village was formed by Korean War refugees who constructed their homes in a staircase manner on the slopes of a coastal mountain. The numerous winding alleys are adorned with murals and art installations created by the residents and local artists.
▲ Haedong Yonggungsa Temple
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is a mesmerizing Buddhist temple that sits on the top of cliffs overlooking the ocean. Unlike most temples in Korea, which are situated in the mountains, Haedong Yonggungsa is uniquely set along the northeastern coast, providing stunning ocean views.
