Yeot Gang Jeong - Sweet Fried-rice Cracker Snack
Yeot Gang Jeong is a traditional snack using rice and syrup made from grains. Rice grains are puffed by deep frying in oil and then mixed with the syrup. The sticky mixture is then flattened and cut into various shapes. Natural powder mixtures are also added to add flavor and color.
Traditional Cloth Wrapping
Wrapping items with a large piece of cloth has been a common way to wrap and carry items throughout Korean history. Learn how to artistically wrap using colorful pieces of cloth and also how to make beautiful knots.
Spicy Red Chili Paste - Gochujang & Spicy Rice Cake - Tteokobokki
Gochujang is spicy red chili paste that is commonly used in many Korean dishes. Various ingredients such as syrup, garlic, soy sauce, and rice are mixed with the main ingredient, chili powder to create a thick paste. With the gochujang that you made, make spicy tteokbokki. Soft rice cakes are mixed with the gochujang to create a delicious spicy tteokbokki.
Soy Sauce Rice Cake - Gung Jung Tteokbokki
Gung jung tteokbokki, is the unspicy soy sauce version of spicy rice cakes (tteokbokki). Soft rice cakes are braised in Korean soy sauce to create a hearty rice cake dish. In ancient times, gung jung tteokbokki was a delicacy served to the kings, hence the name "gung jung" which means, "royal court".
