Seoraksan National Park Autumn/Fall Foliage & Birch Tree Forest 1 Day Tour - from Seoul (Oct 12~Nov 2)

Unfortunately we missed the peak season for the leaves to change in the fall, but it was still a lovely day to see the mountains and birch forest. At the Seoraksan National Park, we had two routes to choose from: one was a walking path, and the other was with a cable car. However, my recommendation is to wear hiking shoes. It's a hike up to the birch tree forest, and would not be suitable for those who have difficulties walking. I wish we had more time at the top with the birch tree forest, especially given how long it took to climb to the top. I'm taking one star away from my review because of an awkward situation we had with the tour guide. Tour guides, please stay with your group because we don't know the area well, and we will keep checking with you that we are walking in the correct direction, as to not get lost. Haha.

It was an amazing experience.. The view is incredible. And the tour guide David is a really nice guy...

This was a long day, but it was super worth it! We were asked to meet 30 mins earlier than the previously expected pickup time, so we had an early start to the day, but slept on the drive to Seoraksan. The mountain was beautiful, the hike was refreshing but not too challenging, and the bibimbap we ate at the bottom of the mountain was delicious! We then went on to the Wondaeri birch forest, and the views were equally as amazing there too! Some of us on the tour accidentally diverted from the path we were told to take, but all of the trails are so well-signposted that it's almost impossible to get really lost. We got stuck in traffic on the way home again since it was a Sunday evening, so I would recommend taking this trip on a Wednesday rather than a Sunday if you can. Regardless of all the traffic we got stuck in, it was still an amazing day, and the guide was very friendly and kind too. He made time to speak to all of the groups at some point during the day, and was very friendly and easy to talk to.

We started the first hike of the day at Seoraksan Osaek trail. Do pause to take a snack break at valley to soak in the atmosphere of the mountain. The water in the stream is so refreshing. I know cos I drank a few sips from it. Our dedicated and reaponsible guide Mr Kwon Sunho hiked up together with us to Wondaeri Birch Forest. The last 30 minutes was tougher but truly worth the effort. You will be greeted by magnificent white-bark tall birch trees at the end of the trail.

We are 3 and the only participant in the tour. Yes, it has become a private tour for us! The tour guide Rei is very friendly and helpful. We enjoy the trip as the scenery is stunning and the hike is not too hard. I really recommend this tour during Auntumn for a colourful trail.

This was a fun activity. Rei, our driver and tour guide was very accommodating and informative. He communicated with us really well in English. It would be nice to include details on the activity listing like proper attire and expectations on the activity. All in all, I highly recommend it. :)
