[About the Attractions]

▲ Deoksugung Palace
Deoksugung Palace was initially not a royal palace, but a residential home of Grand Prince Wolsan (1454-1488), the older brother of King Seongjong (1469-1494) of the Joseon dynasty. Deoksugung Palace gained prominence as a temporary royal residence during turbulent periods in Korean history. Despite its reduced size, the palace retains its historical significance as a symbol of resilience and adaptation amidst changing dynasties.

▲ Donuimun Museum Village
Preserving the heritage of Saemunan Village, this living museum offers a blend of historical authenticity and modern cultural experiences. Through its immersive spaces and participatory activities, visitors can engage with Seoul's past while embracing its vibrant present.

▲ Gyeonghuigung Palace:
Once a royal residence, Gyeonghuigung Palace underwent transformations and eventual redevelopment, leaving behind remnants of its former glory. Today, it serves as a cultural hub housing the Seoul Museum of Art and providing tranquil walking paths amidst urban surroundings.

▲ Gwanghwamun Square
The area in front of Gwanghwamun, historically significant as the entrance to Gyeongbokgung Palace, evolved into a central government district known as Yukjo Geori after the palace's destruction during the Japanese invasion. King Gojong's restoration efforts transformed Gwanghwamun into the national center, symbolizing resilience and continuity amidst political changes in Korea's history.

▲ Cheonggye-cheon Stream
Starting from Cheonggye Plaza, Cheonggyecheon Stream represents a revitalized urban oasis in Seoul. The plaza, adorned with traditional stonework inspired by Korean bojagi, offers visitors a picturesque starting point to explore the stream's 22 bridges and learn about its restoration project. Reflecting themes of gathering, harmony, and unity, the area serves as a testament to Seoul's commitment to preserving its cultural and natural heritage.
