This was an enlightening and joyful tour. The Samsoek village was a beautiful mountain to see water cascading in certain parts, and bridges all around and nice views and little gardens to be enjoyed by young and older alike. There are stairs here and there so it may be a concern if one has trouble going up and down stairs; there are a couple outdoor elevators available . The site is built on a a hill but our group started near the top of the hill and worked our way leisurely down. It was a revelation to discover Heo Jun, and hear of his namesake Korean drama series, also, his 25 volume health reference called the Dongui Bogam of which UNESCO hailed "the significance and importance of Bogam is incomparable to anything in the world.” There is a nominal entrance fee to the two museums on site and one ticket covers both. What a lovely traditional medicine site. The lanterns in Jinju were spectacular. I just marveled at the scale and inventiveness of these lighted pieces. I don’t include any pics to leave the visitor more astounded. I recommend this tour as a highlight of any trip to Korea. We started at 8:30 AM and returned at 1:30AM and self catered at rest stops at food hall type places and street food stalls although one could leave the lantern grounds and dine at one of Jinju’s restaurants. Thank you to our guide, Alvin, and our driver who drove us all the way to Jinju and back in one day.
