After receiving the news that I was the only person who had booked the trip, I had two options: 1. go on a solo trip with the tour guide or 2. cancel the trip and get other services. I opted for the first option, and what can I say? It was the best decision ever. Firstly, my tour guide and her colleague who accompanied her were absolutely amazing, caring and all in all great people. After arriving in Anseong, a beautiful and quiet town about 1 hour from Seoul, it was time to make kimchi. I had the pleasure of meeting the teacher who explained everything in detail and soon the kimchi was ready and packaged. The head of tourism management joined us to enjoy the delicious Korean food with many side dishes (including a different kind of kimchi). It was so delicious! Afterwards, we said goodbye to the women involved in the kimchi and food preparation and went to a nice cafe nearby. Not only were the drinks and desserts delicious, but the view of the lake was breathtaking. After we left the café, it was just us, the tour guides and me. So we went to Anseong Famland and watched a cute show with the animals they had (dogs, pigs, ducks and many more).I think it's not only fun for kids, but adults can also enjoy the show and the nature there. Since one of the attractions we wanted to see was closed, my tour guides quickly changed the plan and we visited a very historical place, the grave of one of the first missionary of Catholicism in Korea. It was interesting to learn about the religious history of Korea and how brave the missionaries were back then. The place itself is also beautiful. Especially in the fall, you can see a lot of autumn leaves. All in all, I can only recommend this tour to anyone who wants to take a break from hectic Seoul and enjoys Korean cuisine and culture. I would like to say a special thank you to all the people I met on this trip, especially Stella and Heather! You were the best! This trip is one of the best experiences I've had in Korea so far, and I'm really glad I got the chance and took advantage of it. I wish beautiful Anseong more and more tourists will come to visit in the coming months and years. I will definitely come back and hope to experience another workshop then (but I would definitely go back for kimchi making).

I had such a great time on the Anseong tour! Making kimchi was super fun, and it tasted amazing. I even feel like I could buy the ingredients at a Korean market and try making it at home. The traditional show was really fun too, and the story was touching. Totally recommend this tour!

The tour guide was friendly and helpful, and the trip progressed on schedule. However, due to the rain, we couldn’t fully enjoy the trip. It was also disappointing that we couldn’t explore the Farmland as planned, since the allocated time was cut in half because of the weather. The tour organizers made this change so we could stay out of the rain and visit a nearby museum instead, but the decision was made without consulting us, which was a bit frustrating. Additionally, the only lunch option provided was pork, and this wasn’t mentioned in advance. As a result, people who cannot eat pork had nothing to eat until late in the evening, since we were told lunch would be included and didn’t bring anything. They should at least inform us beforehand if the lunch menu has limited options, so those with dietary or religious restrictions can plan accordingly. Overall, the trip was enjoyable, but it could definitely have been better organized and more inclusive.

I am very happy to participate in this one-day tour in Ancheng. This day is very fulfilling. I met many friends, made traditional Korean kimchi, went to the ranch, and watched a Korean performance in the afternoon. I really like this arrangement.

Experience Korean culture!!! Get a taste of how to make Korean Kimchi, a unique experience you won't forget (lunch included)! And if you want, you can even take home the kimchi you personally made for only 10,000won!! 😋 (*and the container they use to put your Kimchi in, in addition to the outside lid, has an extra inner seal with a handle, to keep out air and to keep in the smell.😉) Anseong Farmland includes many fun things to do, so everyone can enjoy the different activities of their choice. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes! *I'm not sure, but I heard you can experience riding a horse for free if you book it in advance--but please confirm this before coming! 🐴 Before you leave, don't forget that you can buy different fruit & cheese there. So if you love cheese like I LOVE cheese, be sure to get your favorite flavors (I got the almond cheese & onion cheese). ***Important: Buy any bottled water or drinks you need before going to the Namsadang Performances, as they do not sell any drinks there. The Namsadang Performances were amazing ~ incredible ~ fantastic!!! The musicians share their talents for creating beautiful music, balancing the sounds, that was wonderful to listen to!! (* It was never too loud or irritating, like other performances I've heard in other places.) That being said.... ... I was completely mesmerized by the performance of the tight-trope walker!!! She performs with such tremendous skill it is truly astounding!!! What more can I say?! All the dancers and performers amazed and delighted the audience. The ribbon-twirling was especially skillful ~ I had to keep reminding myself how difficult it must be to coordinate moving their head & neck to spin the ribbon, all while dancing and running in a circle around the stage~ 태박!! Unbelievable!! I can say the same for the Spinning Tops performers. When they tossed their spinning tops high up into the air and caught them again, I didn't know how they could top that trick (pun intended!). Until the 3 performers did it again, but this time they caught each other's tops instead of their own!! I would call it "Sky Juggling Spinning Tops!!!" Afterwards, everyone had the chance to try out any of these skills themselves---it was a great way to create another personal experience and end the day. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The kimchi making was a lot of fun. Lunch was delicious. The farm was rained out, but it was still fun to walk around. The best part of the day was the performance. It was fun and entertaining. They let us try some of the things. Overall, it was a great tour. The tour guides, Jenny and Sally, were super nice and informative.
