Enjoy Alphonse Mucha: The Artist as Visionary—a major 2025–2026 art exhibition in Seoul celebrating 35 years of Korea–Czech diplomatic relations. Held at The Hyundai Seoul ALT.1, this special event showcases 143 masterpieces from the Mucha Trust Collection, including 11 Czech National Treasures and more than 70 works never before seen in Korea. Visitors can explore Mucha’s most iconic Art Nouveau lithographs, rare oil paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and personal items, alongside immersive media installations tracing his unique journey. This is the most comprehensive Mucha exhibition ever presented in Korea, offering an unforgettable experience for art lovers, students, and cultural enthusiasts.



▲ 11 Czech National Treasures Arrive in Korea
For the first time in Korean exhibition history, 11 works officially designated as Czech National Treasures have arrived in Seoul. These masterpieces—normally safeguarded under strict government and EU regulations—were granted exceptional export approval in honor of 35 years of Korea–Czech diplomatic relations. Visitors will also meet 18 oil and tempera paintings, seldom exhibited even in Prague, offering an extraordinary opportunity to appreciate Mucha’s painterly depth beyond his celebrated lithographs. This once-in-a-generation presentation underscores the cultural significance and scale of the exhibition.

This exhibition transforms Mucha’s life and art into a dynamic, immersive media environment curated by Tomoko Sato of the Mucha Trust. Through vivid visuals and storytelling, visitors follow his evolution from Ivancice to Paris and ultimately to Prague. The installation highlights the development of his techniques and ideals, culminating in The Slav Epic—supported by original preliminary works rarely shown abroad. The result is a deeply engaging journey that uncovers the visionary spirit behind Mucha’s masterpieces.

For the first time in Korea, audiences are invited inside Prague’s private Mucha House through exclusive video and personal narratives. Guided by John Mucha, the artist’s grandson and guardian of the Mucha Trust, visitors gain rare insight into the artist’s intimate world and family legacy. This behind-the-scenes access reveals Mucha’s personal environment, inspirations, and daily life in a way never previously shown. The experience adds an emotional and human layer to the exhibition, connecting art, history, and heritage.
