What should I wear for the winter hiking tour in Korea?
Winter in Gangwon-do Province can be very cold, so we recommend wearing warm clothes, gloves, thick socks, snow boots, and crampons for the hike. Proper winter gear will ensure a safe and comfortable experience.
Are crampons required for Wondae-ri Birch Forest?
Yes, wearing crampons is mandatory during winter to enter Wondae-ri Birch Forest. If you do not have your own, you can rent crampons on site for a small fee.
How difficult is the hike to Wondae-ri Birch Forest?
The hike is moderate. It takes about 1 hour (3.2 km) from the entrance to the birch forest. A round trip generally takes 2.5–3 hours, including time for photos. We recommend dressing warmly and wearing proper hiking shoes.
Is ice climbing available at Maebawi Icewall?
No, this tour does not include ice climbing at Maebawi Icewall. You can admire the frozen waterfall and take photos, but climbing is not permitted.
Is the Seoraksan cable car included in the tour price?
The cable car fee at Seoraksan National Park is NOT included in the tour package. If you wish to take the cable car, you can purchase tickets on site at an additional cost:
