Seat reservations for trains operating after February 13 will be available starting from 3:00pm on January 21 (KST).

  • Seat reservations using the KR Pass are only available for remaining seats and are subject to availability.
  • Reservations during this period is available via the KORAIL website and mobile application ONLY. (On-site ticketing is unavailable.)
  • Train tickets are in high demand and very limited during the holiday season. We recommend that you avoid this period or book well in advance.

▲ Korail Pass (KR Pass) provides foreigners visiting Korea with unlimited access to standard class seats of Korea trains for a certain period of time starting from the date you choose.

  • This pass can be used on any 2, 3, 4, or 5 days within a 10-day period from the day the pass has been activated.
  • The pass will be activated from the reservation date of your first ride.

  • Recommended for: Travelers who don't have a fixed travel plan
  • If you have already purchased a Select Pass, you cannot buy another one within the same 10-day validity period.

Trains Available with Korail Pass

  • Please note that you CANNOT take the following trains with the Korail Pass.
    • SRT, AREX (Airport Railroad Express), and metro
  • There are no limits in the number of rides.
  • You can make a seat reservation online or at the Travel Center at any train station. However, we recommend reserving your seat online in advance as there may be a long waiting line. (You cannot make a seat reservation through the automatic ticket machine or kiosk.)
  • Seat reservations are available twice a day. After using the reserved seat chance, you may ride the trains as a standee.
  • The seats will be Economy Class. In case you want to upgrade your seats, there will be an additional charge.

  • This ticket is only available for FOREIGNERS ONLY. A valid ID (i.e passport) will be needed to verify your foreigner status. If there is a Korean national in your group, you CANNOT purchase this ticket.
  • Foreign residents with a PR passport also CANNOT purchase the ticket.
  • Children younger than 6 years old are free of charge and will share seats with their parents.

  • Once you complete the seat reservation, please make sure to PRINT OUT your seat reservation tickets (train tickets).
  • Seat reservations will be available from 30 days before the desired date.
  • Seat reservations are available twice a day. After using the reserved seat chance, you may ride the trains as a standee.

Please visit the ticket booth and show the e-voucher with your passport.

[How to make a seat reservation online]
  1. Visit the Korail Official Website.
  2. Insert the number on your voucher in the 'KORAIL PASS NUMBER' section, then select 'Inquiry.'

  3. Select your desired usage date under 'Starting date of duration,' click 'Save,' then click on 'Seat Reservation.'

*For customers who purchased the Select Pass
  1. Those who purchased the Select Pass must choose their desired travel date to reserve a seat.
  2. Select your ticket from 'Reservation Information,' then select 'Details.'

  3. After selecting your desired travel date under 'Date of Travel,' click 'Save,' then click on 'Seat Reservation.'

  4. After all the information is filled out, select 'Inquiry.'

  5. Select your desired schedule and click 'Seat Selection.'

  6. Select your desired car and seat number and click 'Apply Selection.'

  7. Next, click 'Reservation' at the bottom right.

  8. Check your reservation information and click 'Next.'

  9. After verifying the information, click 'Check out.'

  10. Once you click 'Confirm,' the ticket will be displayed as shown below.

  2. Seats may not be available during the Lunar New Year (Seollal) and Korean Thanksgiving Day (Chuseok), year-end, and New Year holidays. (Standing tickets are available.)
  3. It must be used by the same person only. You will not be able to use it if the name on the Korail Pass and the name on your passport are different.
  4. Reselling or lending to a third party is prohibited.
  5. Age is calculated as the date of birth based on the date of use.
  6. The KR pass voucher can be presented via printout or mobile screen, but you must print the seat reservation on the Korail website. Each person has to bring their own ticket.
  7. Please check if there are seats remaining in the desired section and time.
  8. In case of illegal use of the Korail Pass, a fine (up to 10 times the regular fare) will be imposed.
  9. For further inquiries, please contact the English KORAIL customer service team (+82-1599-7777, 8am~9pm (KST)) or visit the Travel Center at each train station.

After 5:00pm 3 days before the reserved date: Non-refundable
*If you would like to reschedule your reservation, please check the availability with us at least 2 days before the original reserved date (no later than 5:00pm KST).

  • Cancellation is only available via Trazy. To cancel your KR Pass reservation, please send us an email at experience@trazy.com.
  • If you have already made reservations for your train seats, please cancel the seat reservation first and then request a cancellation.

FAQ

The Korail Pass is available for foreign travelers only. Korean nationals and foreign residents with a Korean PR passport are not eligible. A valid passport is required for ID verification. If there is a Korean national in your group, you cannot purchase this pass.
No, the Korail Pass is non-transferable and must be used by the person whose name is on the ticket. The name must match the name on your passport. Reselling or lending the pass to a third party is prohibited.
Seats may be unavailable during major Korean holidays such as Seollal (Lunar New Year), Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving), and year-end/New Year holidays. Standing tickets may still be available.
Children under 6 years old can travel for free but must share a seat with their parent or guardian. Age is calculated based on the date of travel.
You can show your Korail Pass voucher as a printout or on your mobile device. However, seat reservations must be printed from the official Korail website. Each traveler must carry their own ticket.
