Though it's still not quite a staple in my yearly itinerary, I really wanted to take advantage of the return of touring opportunities this year. And what better way to do it than with a day of flower festivals! It was really nice to be able to get out and stroll around Gwangyang and Gurye for the first time. The blossoms were so pretty. The weather was really nice (though a bit hot once the walking picked up). And the booths and stalls for food and treats were aplenty!! The only thing that was a bit of a bummer was the traffic for the day. Since the tour occurred on the first day of both(?) festivals, the travel time to and from each destination was rather long. If I were to go on the tour again, I'd try looking for a chance to go on -maybe- the second or third day of the festivals. : )

The festivals are must do. There's so much beauty and culture to be experienced. Also if you get the tour guide Jennifer then your tour will definitely be worth it. She's extremely knowledgeable and kind.
