The facts

National Folk Museum of Korea is located right next to Gyeongbokgung Palace. It has 3 permanent exhibition halls with over 98,000 artifacts.

One of the exhibition halls, History of Korean People, features 4,000 historical artifacts that were used in the daily lives of ordinary Korean people from the different periods of Korean history from pre-history through the Chosun Dynasty. There is also a Children's Museum where Korean folk tales are introduced.

The exterior of the building is amazing, with the architecture in 1966 accoladed for its beauty. Also, the open air exhibition has much to be explored. The traditional village shows the streets of the past(1960s to 80s), and Ochondaek, which is Hanok(Korean traditional housing style) shows the way Chosun Dynasty.

During special holidays like Chuseok, there are lots of hands-on programs and exhibitions for visitors of all ages to enjoy such as arts and crafts, folk games and more!
