The facts
"Sancheong" is a region located at the Northwestern part of the Gyeongsangnamdo. The area is beautifully surrounded by majestic mountain peaks, such as Jirisan, which is considered one of three spiritual mountains of Korea, with Geumgangsan and Hallasan being the other two.
Here are some of the sightseeing attractions I want to recommend:
1. Daewonsa(temple) valley
Daewonsa Valley is where you can enjoy the chorus of nature created by the sound of clean water flowing around the strangely shaped rocks, the sound of wind blowing through the thick forest of pines and broad leaved trees, and the sound of birds singing.
The valley's landscape creates an amazing scene when season changes. During springtime, you can actually feel and smell the spring. In summer, it is like the valley is surrounded by a lush greenery and the shade of tress. In fall, autumn colored leaves makes the valley all red and it is more beautiful when the sun sets. Lastly, in winter, the snow makes the valley all white and you can feel the true sound of valley streaming.
2. Hwang Mae San Mountain
Hwangmaesan is named such because the shape of the mountain is like an ume in full bloom. It is believed that the prayer of one with an utmost sincerity will be achieved, which led many people to come to the mountain.
The mountain's seasonal transformation is gorgeous too. In Spring, the flower rhododendrons and azaleas embroider pink in the mountain. In Summer, you can see the water from Gyeongho River is pouring down. In Fall, the white flower blossoms all over the mountain and In Winter, snow in the mountain boasts its silver color.
