eSIM or embedded SIM, is a new type of SIM card, where you can download a SIM to your phone without needing a physical SIM card. After purchasing your eSIM, visit the pickup location and download the eSIM to your phone using the provided QR code.

[How to download/activate eSIM]

1. You will receive an eSIM QR code at the pickup location. Scan and download the eSIM to your iPhone.
2. After installing the plan on your phone, the sim will be activated automatically and start to work.

• Be sure to check if your phone supports eSIM before your purchase. You can check via the method below or click here to check if your smartphone supports eSIM, but please note that even though your phone model is listed on the link, eSIM support may be different in your country and with each model version. Please contact your phone manufacturer to make sure.

Validity	3-day eSIM: valid for 72 hours after activation 5-day eSIM: valid for 120 hours after activation 7-day eSIM: valid for 168 hours after activation 10-day eSIM: valid for 240 hours after activation 15-day eSIM: valid for 360 hours after activation 20-day eSIM: valid for 480 hours after activation 30-day eSIM: valid for 720 hours after activation Your SIM card validity period starts when the eSIM is connected to the local KT network. Please activate the eSIM within 10 days after you receive the code.
Data	Daily 3GB of 4G/LTE speeds You can use 3GB of data at 4G/LTE speeds per day. After using all 3GB, you can continue to use unlimited data at 5Mbps speeds. At 12:00am every day, the 3GB will reset.
Credits	0 won You can charge your credits upon installing your eSIM. You will receive a handout on how to charge and extend your eSIM at the pickup location.
SMS	Sending/outgoing (local SMS only) 110 Won per SMS *Credit charging is required before usage. *Please note that if you do not charge voice & SMS credits upon installing the eSIM, your eSIM will ONLY support incoming calls & SMS. (Credits cannot be charged mid-use) *Please top-up voice & SMS credits immediately at the counter if you need a phone number that starts with "010." *Otherwise, a default phone number that starts with "012" will be given, and you will be unable to top-up voice & text credits in the future. *Phone numbers that start with "012" are able to receive incoming calls/texts. However, they may not be valid for receiving messages from restaurant waiting systems or website verification.
eSIM extension	You can extend the validity of the eSIM for 5/10/30 days. Instructions on how to charge your credit can be found in the manual that comes with the eSIM. 5 days: 27,500 Won 10 days: 38,500 Won 30 days: 71,500 Won *You must extend your eSIM BEFORE your current expiry date and as long as you exend your usage, you can use this eSIM for as long as you choose. *Call/SMS credits are not included in the extension fee.
MVoIP calls via Facetime, Skype, LINE, Kakao, Whatsapp or Messenger are supported. You can share the internet connection with other devices via tethering.

Checklist for booking

1. Make sure to book with the exact full name on your passport.
2. Please make sure to unlock your smartphone through your cellphone carrier before coming to Korea, especially if you are from the United States, Canada or Japan. If your smartphone is locked, you CANNOT use this eSIM.
3. You must bring your original passport to receive the QR code.
   *Photocopies or scans of passports will not be permitted.
4. If you are Korean, you have to be over 18 years old to buy the SIM card. Please also note that Korean nationals cannot activate the SIM card with a passport. You need to present your Korean resident ID card or driving license to activate the SIM card.
