Make Your Own Perfume in Seoul

Got a lovely custom perfume and souvenir. However, the workshop wasn't quite what I expected. 1) Firstly, it got off to an awkward start. When I arrived on time, I found another group already in the middle of the activity. I was very confused as I didn't know if the workshop had started early without me. Turns out it was a group of friends from another booking. I don't think it was a good idea for them to accept two separate bookings like that because I ending up feeling isolated and the instructor had to keep walking between me and the group (I was alone at a table while the group was seated all around their own table) to give different instructions, which was confusing. 2) I felt rushed - previous reviews said the instructor would give you a quiz and analyze what scents fit your personality. I was really looking forward to this because I never wear perfume and wanted to figure out what would suit me. In reality, I was given a worksheet, but after I filled out my name and like 2 questions, she said I didn't need to do the rest, barely glanced at my answers, and shooed me onto the next step. Felt like she kept checking in to see if I was done yet. 3) I'd hoped to learn more about the process of perfume-making (I still don't know what's a base note and top note??), but it was literally just picking fragrances to put in a bottle. Even when I asked for tips on perfume-making, the instructor said not to worry about it, just go with what I like and brushed off my question. To be fair, I understand this is a business and she mentioned they have a school where people can take long-term classes. But overall, it felt like they didn't care to teach us anything, and the aim was to give us a perfume and send us on our way. The instructor isn't a bad person and the experience was still cool, but I made a mistake thinking it was going to be educational. Enjoy it for what it is and understand you're paying to put fragrances in a bottle, not to learn about how, why, or what you're doing.

This is my second visit, and it was just as amazing as the first time. I love how I am given the information on how to make the best scent, but then allowed time to test each individual scent on your own. And if I got confused or had a question my instructor was right there to help. This made this activity so much more peaceful and fun.

This is definitely a great activity if you're looking to do something unique as a solo traveler or with friends/family. It was a relaxing activity, and I got to take my time figuring out which scents I wanted in my personal perfume. Gigi was an outgoing teacher, and she gave instructions that were easy and clear to follow. I'm looking forward to the scent of my perfume once it's done aging and would definitely go back once I run out!

This was an amazing experience! I felt very relaxed while finding the right scents for my perfume. And my teacher was so nice and helpful. I loved how I got to name my scent after I was done too! I would highly recommend this experience.

This was a really lovely activity I did with my mom when she visited! Gigi was super sweet and it was cool to try the different scents and decide what I wanted! I was in love with several and so I hope that when it’s ready in two weeks, it’ll be good!

Super fun and such an interesting experience. I wish we learnt more about perfumery instead of just making but it was still enjoyable.

I had a wonderful time creating my own scent. The teacher was wonderful and informative. My perfume is my new favorite scent 😊

Cool experience. The teacher was very nice and enthusiastic. It was fun to be able to choose from a lot of different smells to make our own perfume. We did a personality test but the teacher did not really help us customize based off of that- I was hoping for more of a personal recommendation but she did recommend different scents to the whole group so maybe she took them into account. I kind of just put drops of every smell that I liked into it. It has to rest for 2 weeks before I’m able to open it but I hope my combination ends up smelling good!

Very fun activity! The perfumer was very sweet and it was interesting when she explained how our scent choices reflect who we are as people.

Hassel free and easy redemption. Short walk from subway and easy to locate the building. Friendly and patient throughout the 1hr session.

She was so nice! My friends and I had a great time. It’s a pretty detailed process and will take the full amount of time so I suggest arriving a little early. Please note that the perfume needs to age two weeks before you can use it. My friends and I love our perfumes and will definitely be going back!!

We had a lot of fun making our perfume. My brother and daughter had accompanied me. Each of our perfumes were unique. The owner is such a nice lady! I highly recommend doing this. The location was easy to find.

Hubby and I both enjoyed the activity as a couple. It feels special to make a personalised one of a kind perfume for ourselves. The packaging is pretty too! You can attend Perfume Making workshop in Singapore too, but at almost double the price. We went to the Itaewon branch and it’s not very convenient to walk from the subway station. However, it's near enough to ride a cab and not pay an exorbitant fare.

This was a really fun activity that I did with my friends at the Myeongdong branch. The lady didn’t speak a whole lot of English, but she was really sweet and patient while we took our time choosing our scents. We finished the workshop in about 45 minutes, but you do have a 2 hour time frame. After you finish with your perfume, the lady wraps it up in a pretty box and bag. I really would recommend this, it’s a fun thing to get out and do with a group of friends.
