概要
Gangchon Rail Park is built on the old railway, Gyeongchun line that used to connect Seoul and Chuncheon for 70 years.
This historical place has become a rising tourist spot. Nowadays, visitors can ride a railroad bike along the disused train track with a beautiful scenery of Bukhan River.
It operates from 3 stations: Gimyujeong, Gangchon, and Gyeonggang. Among those 3 stations, Gimyujeong station is the most accessible and popular course for visitors.
Gimyujeong course is about 8 km long and it's an hour and half ride. It's located right next to subway station and the building looks like a pile of enlarged books so it's difficult to miss. There is a rest stop in between to get some food and drink. After pedaling the bike for 6 km, you can ride on the special train called "Romance Train" for the rest of the way.

We went there on a weekday late afternoon, after our Korean host had done a phone reservation for us.
There was not much of a crowd probably because that's the off-peak period.
It's an interesting activity that doesn't take away the simplicity of cycling with friends, at the same time with the unique idea that you see the scenery in a different way :D
Would have been better if it were snowing/ after snow when we went, but otherwise it was a chilly ride but good quality time spent with friends~
