Baekje was one of the 3 ancient kingdoms on the Korean peninsula (Baekje, Silla, and Goguryeo) and it lasted for about 700 years (18 BC ~ 660 AD). Baekje was founded near Han River, Seoul, and moved its capital twice: Gongju was the second capital and Buyeo was the third.In 2015, 8 historical sites of late Baekje Kingdom era were designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Among the 8 sites, 4 of them are located in Buyeo, 2 in Gongju and 2 in Iksan.
