Historic Site No.158 It is called Daewangam. After the King MunMu(AD 626~686) completed unification of the three Kingdoms, he thought for the well being of his country he would defend it even after his death. So he left a testament to Judiciary that if his dead body gets wiped and cremated by the consultant and buried in front of the Sea of Korea, he would become a dragon to protect the country. According to his will, his bone ashes were sprinkled in the Sea of Korea and his funeral also carried out at the Sea of Korea. People believed that the king's testament to become a dragon so they called the place where his ashes were sprinkled Daewangam.
Around Dae Wang Rock there are pine promenade and dragon park that you can enjoy with. Also there is the biggest letterbox world wide. There is Il-San Hoe Sen-Teo near by Dae Wang Rock and it is famous for its way if choosing menu. You can directly see how you food is cooked.
It was a great place to walk and see ocean at the same time. As I walk along the pine path I was able to hear the dash of waves and feel the wind from the sea. The smell of the ocean was very romantic in the middle of the forest.
