*2014 Namsan Cherry Blossom Festival will start in the mid of April. Dates haven't been confirmed yet. Namsan Park has the longest cherry blossom road and offers a beautiful scene for the pictures.
Namsan Park is an ecological park surrounded by the city, located in the heart of capital hanging over Jung-gu and Yongsan-gu. It also refers to the Namsan mountain, which symbolizes Seoul.
Namsan Park is also a historical site. You will find Bonghwadae (beacon mound) at the top as it was once the center of capital defense. During the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) the capital was changed to Hanyang,(current Seoul) and to protect the city from invasions, castle walls were built on the 4 major mountains.
