The facts

*2014 Namsan Cherry Blossom Festival will start in the mid of April. Dates haven't been confirmed yet. Namsan Park has the longest cherry blossom road and offers a beautiful scene for the pictures.

Namsan Park is an ecological park surrounded by the city, located in the heart of capital hanging over Jung-gu and Yongsan-gu. It also refers to the Namsan mountain, which symbolizes Seoul.

Namsan Park is also a historical site. You will find Bonghwadae (beacon mound) at the top as it was once the center of capital defense. During the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) the capital was changed to Hanyang,(current Seoul) and to protect the city from invasions, castle walls were built on the 4 major mountains.

There are a lot of things to do in Namsan Park. You'll be able to find N Seoul Tower, National Theater of Korea, restaurants and small parks and major hotels such as Silla, Hyatt, Hilton and Banyan Tree Club & Spa nearby.

A nice area to wander around and relax, and it's nice to feel a little removed from the buildings and traffic of the city.
