Gyeonggijeon Shrine was erected in 1410 and displays a portrait of King Tae-jo, the founder of the Joseon Dynasty, along with him and his wife's mortuary tablets. The original structure was partially destroyed during the Imjin War but was remodeled in 1614.
Besides the king's portrait, you can also find pictures of many other successive kings such as Sun-jong, Cheol-jung, Se-jong and Yeong-jo. There are also carriages that were used to transport mortuary tablets and dignitaries as well as individual chair-like carriages on display.
The location is also featured in the popular drama "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds", starring Park Bo-gum and Kim Yoo-jung.
