Ayutthaya is 75 km north of Bangkok and one of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in Thailand.
The Former capital of Thai which, is especially during the period of Ayutthaya from the 14th century to the 18th century, had become devastated because of the Burmese attacks. However, it has remained in that condition after capital moving to Bangkok. This makes the city of Ayutthaya a top-shelf destination for Thailand visitors who want to sightsee the clustered historical ruins.
Recommend you to take a look around the city by bicycle or Tuktuk. It is easy to find rental shops or drivers of Tuk-tuk in the city. The cost of renting a bicycle is 20 to 50 baht a day and the cost of riding a Tuk-tuk defers depending on the hours or distances of your tour. You would better give a try to negotiate the total price of Tuk-tuk tour with the driver or the boss of the driver.
If you need more information about touring this city then pay a visit to Ayutthaya Tourist Center also called Ayutthaya Tourism Centre first. You are able to get a map of the city there for free and look around the exhibition on the 2nd story which, is closed on Wednesday.
If you are willing to spend enough time in this city, take a cruise down the Chao Phraya River surrounding the center of Ayutthaya, stop by Naresuan Soi 1 and 2 streets which, are streets for backpackers or have a trip to Bang Pa-in Palace about 20 km away.
Some of the spots have admission fees from about 20 to 50 Bahts. Some of them will boast awesome night view with lit-up after the sun goes down.
