The facts

Noryangjin fish market is the biggest & the most vibrant seafood market in Seoul city. There are many kinds of fresh and raw seafood available like clams, shrimps, octopuses, fish and many more.
The fun part for the locals as well as for the first-time visitors is that you can buy any type of seafood, (at a low price if you can haggle) then they slice it nicely for you, take it to the restaurant (located within the market warehouse) and eat it with assorted food that the restaurant prepares. It's also known to have auctions every morning (1am~6am).
It's the seafood and fish market that Do Min Joon visited to buy a seafood (Urechis unicinctus) for Cheon Song Yi from the 2014 hit K-drama "My Love from the Stars" starring Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun.

No trip to Seoul is complete without a visit to this fish market. I went there twice and both times I had a truly enjoyable experience. On my first visit, we spent a total of ₩50,000 for two people (crab, abalone, cockles, baby octopus) and this includes the restaurant charges. On my second visit, we spent a total of ₩300,000 for eight people (lobster, two different kinds of crabs, flat fish sashimi, prawns, abalone, baby octopus, spicy fish stew) and this amount also includes the restaurant charges. Super affordable! Highly recommended.

A super big fish market where you can find almost every kind of fishes! Better to go with lot of people so that you can try all those crazy but delicious seafoods! Best if you can bargain in Korean or Chinese, or come with people who speak those language, you'll get way cheaper price and possibly some 'service' like they'll give you more amount of the fishes. Take the fishes you bought to a restaurant inside, and try to eat it fresh (uncooked). But if it does taste terrible, just ask them to cook it with some spices. If you go with 4 or more people, I recommend King Crab, its big, pricy, but super good!

I went there early February with my friends and because I came late, they had already bought the seafood. It's nice cause you are able to purchase the seafood on the spot and after that get it cooked at a restaurant in the market (usually referred by the vendors selling seafood). However I have to warn tourist especially to be extra careful as they tend to jack up the price a lot. I wasn't there but later on I found out from my friends they paid 260USD for 2 "sashimi" fishes and because they wanted to eat the big hairy crab and lobster it came up to 400usd for both. Plus for the simple cooking done at the restaurant it was 110usd.. (we didn't order booze). My korean friend said that we definitely got cheated alot. SO BE REALLY CAREFUL.
