Jeonju Hyanggyo is a Confucian school in Jeonju that was established during the Joseon Dynasty (1392 - 1910). This was a national education center during the Joseon period. The school was originally located at the Gyeonggijeon Shrine site, but was relocated in 1603. The mortuary tablets of seven Chinese Confucian scholars and 18 Korean scholars are enshrined in the main building of Daeseong-jeon. There are also five big old Gingko trees that you can look at.
The location is also famous for being the shooting place of two popular dramas, "Sungkyunkwan Scandal", starring Park Min-young, Park Yoochun, Yoo Ah-in and Song Joong-ki, as well as "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds", starring Park Bo-gum and Kim Yoo-jung.
