Honinji (Marriage Site) 혼인지

There are many legends about the origin of Jeju. The most famous legend is the Samsung legend. Long time ago in Jeju, there weren’t any people. Suddenly under the land, 3 demi-gods (Yang ella, Bu ella, Ko ella) emerged with a big light. So there became 3 holes on the land. They were healthy and smart and so they found Tamra country.
One day at Yeonhonpo, they found a big wooden box which had 3 Byeokrangguk nation princesses, the vassal from Byeokrangguk, many treasures and some livestock. The vassal told them
"A few days ago, the king of Byeokrangguk nation saw a big light and he prognosticated that in Jeju, great heroes were born. So please accept these and make a great nation with three princesses."
So Yang ella, Bu ella and Ko ella got married to the three princess, and their nations flourished.

Honinji or also known as the wedding site is the place where the wedding ceremony was held. So it's a really romantic place and is good for couples.
In Honinji, you can see a lake and many flowers, which is a good place to walk. And there are three caves which served as bridal rooms. The Honinji Festival is held every October. During the festival, people reenact the Samsung legend's wedding ceremony and you can also wear traditional wedding clothes. There are many programs like tasting Jeju's traditional food, dinner party, face painting and a parade of wedding.
