This shop is one of the representative restaurants in Busan. It’s known for serving Naengmyeon with grilled beef. What is Naengmyeon? Naengmyeon is a Korean dish of long and thin handmade noodles made from the flour and starch of various ingredients: buckwheat (memil), potatoes, sweet potatoes and kudzu (chik). Varieties with ingredients such as seaweed and green tea are available. Originally a delicacy in northern Korea, especially in the cities of Pyengyang and Hamheung in North Korea, Naengmyeon became widely popular throughout Korea after the Korean War. Traditionally, the long noodles would be eaten without cutting, as they symbolized longevity of life and good health, but servers at restaurants usually ask if the noodles should be cut prior to eating, and use scissors to cut the noodles.
In the summer it’s a delicious food to cool down, and in the winter Koreans come here to enjoy ‘Inaengchinaeng’ (you find something cold when you are a cold).
You feel the warmth through the shop's interior and the warm light. This area has been known for a good place to take photos as well. It’s highly recommended to try mul-naengmyeon (noodles with cold soup) and bibim-naengmyeon (cold noodles with spicy sauce) respectively.
