Jajangmyeon Museum was opened in April 2012 in Chinatown in Seonlin-dong, Jung-gu, the birthplace of jajangmyeon. The museum has an historic significance in that it is built in the original Gonghawchun building (registered cultural heritage property no. 246), a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown which is known to have developed Korea's first jajangmyeon in 1905. The museum took this empty brick building and restored it for the city’s citizens. Standing two stories above the ground and comprising a total floor area of 846 square meters, the museum allows visitors to trace the history of the community: it shows how the citizens lived in this neighborhood at the time Incheon was opening its port to the world; it also explains the origin and ingredients of jajangmyeon, and its nutritional value.

If you like to eat jajangmyeon, this is a museum you have to visit. It details the origins of jajangmyeon, shows the different varieties eaten in Korea, and how it's cooked. Well worth the 1000 won admission fee.
