The facts

Open for almost a year, Left Coast was one of the first restaurants in Itaewon to start serving gourmet burgers. Everything from the patties to the buns is homemade and love and care goes into each one. As well as their fantastic burgers they have become popular for their classic American side dishes with a twist such as the tatter tot nachos, fried pickles and mac & cheese.

The restaurant is a large size and has a large bar which is a great place to grab a beer or a cocktail and shoot the breeze with the friendly owners. Reservations are always welcome, but not necessary.

Main menu

Not surprisingly the main menu consists of burgers. Classics such as the John Wayne (bacon, BBQ sauce, onion rings), Juicy Lucy (cheese inside) or Fried Chicken (with coleslaw) are always popular. But they also have a few more inventive options such as the Popeye (candied pork belly, creamed spinach) and the Hot Stuff (spicy peeper, garlic spread.)
As well as a menu filled with burgers they have fantastic side dishes like their galbi topped fries, tater tot nachos, mac and cheese, fried pickles and polenta fries.

FOOD: I went to Left Coast with some American friends many month ago, and that time I wasn't feeling well so I just got a baobun, which was very delicious ad funny for me, since it was the first time I had a baobun.

I decided to go back again and tried the Juicy Lucy, a hamburger with cheese inside the patty. This looked so good the first time I went, that I was decided to try it one day. I didn't regret it. Juicy Lucy has become my favorite hamburger in Korea, and probably my 3rd favorite overall.

I've heard they have a veggie hamburger, but I don't know how it is. Next time I will probably bring my vegetarian friend and update my review.

They also serve mini-burgers and the baobuns, which is a fusion food consisting in hamburgers made with chinese buns

PRICE: The prices are a bit high for a hamburger, but the quality and taste make it up. They also have many drinks. I usually order a Lemonade, but if you are on a tight budget, just order the hamburger ^^ The juicy lucy is 14,000w (+2,000w if you want handcut fries - recommended)

LOCATION: The easiest way is by subway. Get off at Itaewon station exit #4 and walk downhill (very smal hill tho, just walk down without crossing) and after a few meters you will see it on your right. The restaurant might be hard to see if you´re not looking for it, as it is on a 2nd floor.

Fat Girl
Left Coast is my favourite burger restaurants in the city. They have an amazing range of burgers, including some more inventive ones. The Juicy Lucy with the cheese in the middle is one of my favourites. They also have some great sides such as galbi fries, and tater tot nachos. I also enjoy that they serve cocktail specials, meaning you can have a drink and a burger at the same time!
