Bongsunsa temple is especially known for its breathtaking natural scenery which includes the area of Gwangneung forest that was designated as the UNESCO Biosphere reserve. With this templestay, you will be able to walk through the forest opened exclusively to templestay participants. Relax and learn how to control your body and mind with Bongsunsa's monk through this exceptional templestay program!

[Bongsunsa]
Situated in Namyangju city of Gyeonggi province, Bongsunsa temple's history goes back to the year 969 when Beopin, the national preceptor founded this temple as "Unaksa". The temple was renamed as "Bongunsa" in 1469 by Queen Jeonghui to pray for King Sejo's peaceful resting of the soul.
It was destroyed during the Qing invasion of Joseon, the Japanese invasion and the Korean war, but after years of repairs and restoration, it became the temple as it is now.
