Let's eat, first place (먹자골 일번지) in 'Gwangjang' market(광장 시장)

This place is located in Gwangjang Market which is one of the famous traditional markets in Korea. Gwangjang Market is famous for delicious Korean food. If you take subway, it's only 1 minute walk from the exit. Because of the advantage in accessibility with public transportation system, Gwangjang Market is always crowded with people not only from Korea but also many other countries in the world. They are all enjoying Korean traditional market culture.

This place is in the center of street of the food stalls. It has bindaetuk, soondae, red bean soup, pumpkin soup and etc. When I visited there, it was so crowded that I couldn't even have an interview with anyone in that place. The old cook was cooking all the time and the cashier looked so busy with the bills. It was such an noisy place but also it was so lively, vigorous and cheerful. I think this positive energy makes people who comes to this place happy.

I ordered the famous bindaetuk(mung bean pancake with vegetable) and sundae(made by kneading together a seasoned mixture of glutinous rice, bean curd, scallions, mung-bean sprouts, and shiitake mushrooms and stuffing it into casings made of hog intestines, which are then tied off at the ends and boiled) and each costs 10,000 won. There were 5 of us but we couldn't finish them all because the portions were quite big. They were served with a few side dishes such as kimchi and onions. I posted some pictures of this place. I hope one day you can have a chance to taste those Korean foods.
