Pyounhwa Market is a traditional fashion market of Korea. It is next to Cheonggyecheon(river). There are variety of products of fashion items. The products are for both wholesale and retail. On the 1st floor, there are fashion items such as scarf, muffler, hats, belts, and socks. On 2nd and 3rd floor, there are clothes for adults. The passage of the building will be crowded when you visit the market at midnight because people who come to buy items for their indivisual clothing stores. It is Merchants take foreign money and credit cards but it is best when you just bring Korean money for easy payments. But there are money exchange booth for foreigners so you don't have to worry about Korean money.
There are other Pyounghwa(Peace) Markets nearby for example ChungPyounghwa, NamPyounghwa, DongPyounghwa, and SinPyounghwa. There are also many buildings which has many fashion stores so you can have fun shopping.
* History of Pyounghwa Market -There was a market square made by displaced people who came to South Korea after the Korean War. People used to sell war supplies next to the Cheonggyecheon. There was a big fire in 1958 at that place, and then there was made a market which is today's Pyounghwa Market.
