The facts

Samcheongdong-gil is a street where traditional and modern Korea were combined to create a more unique and classy atmosphere.
It stretches between Gyeongbokgung and Cheongwadae. It is lined with restored hanok(Korean traditional-style houses) that have been renovated into cozy coffee shops, museums, galleries and antique shops. Many galleries have their own cafes, restaurants, or craft shops, allowing visitors to enjoy art, shopping and lunch all under one roof.

Located in the upscale neighborhood, Samcheong-dong is one of the few places where hanoks are restored as contemporary designer shops, art galleries, and cafes. Due to its artistic exterior, the trendy street makes a good backdrop for any photos. For shoppers, most places open around 10:30am and close around 8-9pm.

Samcheongdong is my favorite neighborhood in Seoul. It's in the area where cultural places abound (museums and art galleries, Gyeongbokgung, Bukchon, Gwanghwamun Square, Jogyesa Temple, Changdeokgung) yet they marry well with the modern times as can be experienced in the abundance of cafes, stores, and restaurants. In all of my trips to Seoul before, I always prefer to stay in Samcheongdong because the place is perfect for early morning walks.

I hardly forget that black alongside fence for an odd reasons, winter was so cold to walk along this street, but you can help but enjoy all the view right/left of the street as so many nice cafe buildings to see. Better to go with someone than alone :)
