"Dibrary" is a new name for the digital library of the National Library of Korea, which is the world’s first hybrid library combining digital and analogue ideas. "Dibrary" consists of “Dibrary Portal,” a virtual space, and a physical service space called “Dibrary Information Commons”.
Dibrary Portal provides approximately 0.1 billion digital contents through broad cooperation and data integration with the libraries and diverse organizations holding valuable digital contents, including public and private organizations in Korea and overseas.
Information Commons refers not only to a physical space but also to the virtual space in which cutting-edge facilities, the service strategies, and the system are provided to accurately identify traditional and newly-emerging users' needs and provide user-oriented services, with the aim of realizing the goal of “Information services that are open to everyone”.
