The facts

Kyobo Bookstore is Korea's largest chain of bookstores. Approximately 2.3 million books are categorized electronically so you can find whatever selection you are looking for very easily. It is always crowded with people standing, reading books. On the weekends, the store attracts readers both young and old.

Kyobo also hosts a series of events, including a book of the month event where authors come and meet with readers to discuss their work. There's also a character shop, a stationary store and a music store where you can listen to your favorite album. The foreign book corner is popular among foreigners because there are numerous books written in various languages. Those unable to find specific titles can order them at the counter.

[Jongno Branch]
There are many streets around Kyobo Bookstore that are famous for their delicious food. If it's traditional spirits and tasty side dishes you're after then head straight to Pimatgol. There are many different dishes to enjoy in a comfortable atmosphere. The Chungjin-dong haejang-guk (broth to relieve hangover) street and the Mukyo-dong octopus restaurants nearby are also very famous.

[Gangnam Branch]
Carrying numerous national and international bestsellers and just about every other book imaginable, Gangnam's Kyobo Bookstore is a popular meeting point for people of all ages. It was also the filming location for the drama, 'Yeongae Sidae' (Alone In Love).

This is the largest bookstore in Korea where you can find numerous and diverse types of books. They also sell 2nd language books such as books that are written in English and Japanese. You can find books that are useful regardless of age, from kids to elderly. There is also a big stationery store right next to this bookstore so you can enjoy shopping after you buy books. This place is easily reachable with public transportation. It is located in Gwanghwamun station
