The facts

Heyri Art Valley, located in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, Seoul, is a valley where you can find a collection of art galleries, workshops, film studios, bookshops and cafes.

About 380 artists, including painters, sculptors, graphic artists, filmmakers and potters live or work in Heyri.

Why is this art village named 'Heyri?' The reason is that this is the name of Paju's traditional song which was sung when their forefathers farmed. This is the origin of 'Heyri.'

Among these beautiful buildings, there is Kim Eun-Ho's bookhouse, the International Folk Museum.

It was a shoot scene for the romantic comedy "Everybody has secrets" (2004) starring Lee Byung-Hun and Choi Ji-Woo.

Nice place to go chill. You can enjoy seeing museums and reading books in beautiful cafes. It will be an advantage if you have a car because each places are scattered. Still, you can walk. There are so many interesting activities, so it's better if you plan or list the places you want to go before actually go there.

Everything starts around noon so don't arrive early as my friend and I did! There is a lot of museums you can visit, personally recommend Korean Modern History, really cool museum. You can see the changes through all the collected materials. For a meal, I recommend Better Burger, cheap and amazing and while there, visit Secret Garden for a drink or candies. It is really cute and ideal for couples but still totally worth the visit
