The facts

Nongoldam-gil is a charming hillside village trail in Donghae City that connects Mukho Port to Mukho Lighthouse. Stretching about 1.2 km, the path winds through narrow alleys decorated with colorful murals and sculptures created by local residents and artists. These artworks reflect the daily lives and stories of fishermen—like squid drying scenes and memories symbolized in old rubber boots—offering a unique glimpse into Korea’s coastal culture.

The trail includes Nongol 1-gil to 3-gil and Deungdae Oreum-gil, with the Wind Hill Observatory providing sweeping views of the East Sea. Along the way, you’ll find unique spots like Pink Heaven Donuts, a quirky local café, and "German Woman Judith", a small European-style shop run by a German collector showcasing old maps featuring Dokdo.

The paths are steep and narrow, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Parking is limited, so it’s best to use the Mukho Port Public Parking Lot and explore on foot.
