The facts

Mukho Lighthouse, located on a hill north of Mukho Port in Donghae City, is a historic landmark built in 1963 to guide ships along Korea’s east coast. Beyond its role as a navigational aid, the lighthouse offers stunning panoramic views of the East Sea, Mukho Port, and nearby attractions like Sky Valley and Haerang Observatory.

Visitors can climb the spiral staircase inside the lighthouse to enjoy the open sea views, and explore nearby photo spots and a small maritime culture exhibit. The area is especially popular for its beautiful scenery and charming local cafés.

Since parking is limited near the lighthouse, it’s recommended to park at the Mukho Port Waterfront Public Parking Lot and walk up.

Mukho Lighthouse is such a charming and peaceful spot in Donghae! At the top, you're rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the East Sea and Mukho Port. The area around the lighthouse is quiet and perfect for enjoying the fresh sea air and soaking in the coastal atmosphere. It's truly a hidden gem and definitely worth a visit if you’re exploring Donghae.
