Racha Islands are a group of 2 small islands, called Ko Racha Yai and Ko Racha Noi. Ko Racha (Raya) Yai and Ko Racha (Raya) Noi are twin islands off the southeastern coast of Phuket. They are located 18 kilometers due south of Phuket Island. Both have crystal clear, turquoise blue water and good diving and snorkeling sites.
Racha Yai Island is closest to Phuket. It has two wonderful white sand beaches. Known for the crystal clear blue water, this island has been an almost exclusive paradise for divers for years. With Racha Yai's white sand beaches and expanding accommodations, Racha Yai's popularity is growing up.
Racha Noi Island has no services or accommodation, but there's some great diving in the area. Racha Noi Island dive sites are split into 4 locations - North, South, East, and West. Diving here will depend on what time of year you visit. From October to April the west coastline is favored by the dive lovers, however, they tend to love east coastline dive sites that are protected from monsoon winds around April.
