Hidden away on top of Khun Nim Peak, in southern Thailand, Secret Buddha Garden is a fascinating place full of mysterious sculptures. Also known as the Magic Garden, this place was built in 1976 by a local Samuian farmer, Khun Nim Thongsuk. After his retirement as a farmer, Khun Nim started his garden by constructing several statues at a time on his family’s land. From then on, he continued his work to further establish his garden until his death 14 years later.
The garden encompasses many sculptures of all shapes and sizes. These creatures, whether they be people or animals, represent characters from Buddhist mythology. Therefore, the ensembles of these hand-carved sculptures come together to tell vibrant stories.
One other crucial factor that contributes to the beauty of Secret Buddha Garden is the natural environment. As it is hidden in a hill, the garden is surrounded by green jungle and waterfalls, which perfectly adds to the mystical atmosphere of the garden.
