Located about 15km east of Chiang Mai central area, Bo Sang Village is famous for making classical Thai umbrellas.
At this village, you can see buildings decorated with colorful umbrellas. There are also many shops that sells different types of handicrafts. When you walk around the village, you can also see artisans painting on umbrellas and making hand fans using mulberry paper, silk or canvas. Umbrellas being dried in the sun are easily seen in this village. Trying a hand paint on an umbrella or a hand fan is also possible.
In January, Bo Sang Village Umbrella Festival is held here.
