Doi Inthanon National Park is the national park for Doi Inthanon Mountain and located about 1 hour south from Chiang Mai. Doi Inthanon Mountain is the highest mountain in Thailand, so if you love hiking this is the perfect mountain.
At Doi Inthanon Mountain, you can stand on the highest point in Chiang Mai at 2,565 above sea level. The views of the city you get to see on the way are spectacular.
Doi Inthanon Mountain is best enjoyed through hiking. On each of the hiking trails, you will get pass by waterfall and observatories. It is a dense rainforest and it will feel like you trekking like Indiana Jones.
One of the most famous hiking trails is the Ang Ka Nature Trail. This beautiful path is paved with wooden bridges and the atmosphere is awesome. The natural flower and moss make it look like a mystic wonderland!
The mountain is home to the King and Queen's pagoda. The holy relics of Nabhamethanidol and Nabhapolbhumisiri are worshiped at this pagoda. The pagoda is truly a work of art and the garden around the pagoda is well arranged with flowers, making it a perfect spot to take beautiful photos.
The national park also has a camping ground for those who want to spend a night out in the mountain!
