*The 2017 Bonghwa Eun-uh Festival will take place from July 29 ~ August 5.
Bonghwa Eun-uh (Sweet Fish) Festival is an annual summer festival held in Bonghwa County in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, where you can catch and taste delicious eun-uh.
Eun-uh or sweet fish is small silver freshwater fish that lives for about 1 year. The fish can only live in clean Grade 1 water. Bonghwa County is home to the clean waters making it a perfect place for the fish to live.
Every year the county promotes the county's fresh water and sweet fish habitat by opening a spectacular festival. At the festival, you can catch fish the traditional way by using a scoop net or with your bare hands! Come see how many fish you can catch!
Not only do you get to go fishing, but there are other water activities for you to enjoy! Enjoy a massive water fight, slide down the inflatable slides or participate in a running race across the river bank for a chance to win special prizes!
