The facts

Tong Tong Dwaeji, meaning "Chubby Pig" is a very popular Samgyeopsal (Pork belly) barbecue restaurant in Sinchon.
It's not only known among the locals but also the Japanese. It's been introduced in both Korean and Japanese press several times.
The place isn't too big (about 6~7 tables) so you may have to wait awhile especially on Fridays and Saturdays.

The taste of the chubby Samgyeopsal is guaranteed. They usually grill and cut the pork belly for you, which makes the eating experience much more comfortable and exciting.
Tong Tong also serves its own special spicy vegetable salad (Pa-Muchim) that you can eat with the barbecue and yukgaejang (hot spicy meat stew) for free.

Very bad service. Made us wait 45 mins then only to tell us that the place is not available. They deliberately left a table empty for 30 mins for a reservation even though the reservation is 1 hour later without letting us have it. The owner cannot speak English so communication is difficult. Not recommended for tourist. Don't go. Ruin our night. Doesn't even deserve the 1 star. Very disappointed

This place is small but very popular. It is well known for the thickness of the samgyupsal they serve. Tong Tong Dwaeji seems especially popular among Japanese.

Tong Tong Dwaeji is a very delicious pork bbq place. You can see posters of their media exposure posted on the wall. It's a very small place but one of the best restaurants to eat the original Korean style pork bbq.
