The facts

Wat Saket, also known as the Golden Mount, is a Buddhist temple with a shimmering golden Chedi in the heart of Bangkok city. It's one of the most iconic and historical sites as it enshrines holy relic of the Lord Buddha.

At the time when it had been founded, this temple was the tallest structure in Bangkok so used to monitor fire accidents.

You need to go up to the hill for about 10~15 minutes to reach this temple but it is well worth the experience as you can take in the panoramic view of the city from the top of the pagoda.

The temple on the man-made hill has been a worshipping site for a long time and held an annual temple fair in the mid of November during Loy Krathong which lasts for a week. This will be a rare opportunity which you can have a look at unique lanterns, coloured flags and enjoy local food as well.
