Haegeumgang Island is perhaps the most well-known and renowned location that has put Geoje on the map. The island is a huge rocky structure resembling an arrowroot. The island rises to a height of 116 m above the sea level and is a part of the Hallyeo Haesang National Park. Haegeumgang is known for having hidden caves and rocks of various shapes, the most famous being the Bride and Groom rocks, Candle Holder rocks and the Shipjagul Cave.
Cruise ships are available for a trip to the island with a tour guide explaining the significance of the rocks and passing through the inner caves.
It is best to visit the island for an early morning sunrise or a late evening sunset to completely experience the charm of Haegeumgang Island.
