Located in the Amphawa village next to the Mae Khlong River, the Amphawa Floating Market is famous among tourists visiting Bangkok today. It is considered more authentic and local compared to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market which is a bit touristy. The market is especially known for a variety of fresh seafood sold by the local vendors. Both affordable and delicious foods are offered for tourists to enjoy right next to the river.
Close to the village are the long tail boat services that tourists can make use of to explore the surrounding rivers and canals. The Mae Khlong River is also a home to several small temples nearby. Tourists can visit the Wat Bang Koong, a small, exotic temple embraced inside a banyan tree. During nighttime, it is also possible for tourists to receive firefly tours through boats.
