The facts

Samtan Art Mine, located in Jeongseon County, Gangwon Province, is well-known as shooting location of "Descendants of the Sun (KBS, 2016)," a hit Korean drama starring Song Joong-ki, Song Hye-kyo, Kim Ji-won, and Jin Goo.

Samtan Art Mine was an abandoned coal mining site, but today the place has transformed into a cultural art complex where various exhibitions are held. Try a visit to this unique attraction where you can actually see the filming location for the 'earthquake' scene from "Descendants of the Sun" and also enjoy art works at this old mine!
