The facts

Seoul National Cemetery, located near Dongjak Station, is the nation's sanctuary where the remains of 165,000 martyred patriots who sacrificed themselves for the defense and development of their country are resting in peace. It is also full of the spirit of the whole nation and patriotism which saved the nation in the great crisis.

There are various attractions like the Memorial Gate, Memorial Tower, Chungseong Fountain Tower, Holy Ground, Photographic Exhibition House, Educational Movie Theater, and Relics Exhibition House. Stop by the Memorial Tower where you can find memorial tablets of 104,000 soldiers who died during the Korean War.

Every year on June 6 is Memorial Day, and the memorial services and events take place at the Seoul National Cemetery on this day to commemorate the sacrifices of those who died in service of South Korea.

It also holds the famous Seoul National Cemetery Cherry Blossom Festival in the middle of April every year, welcoming all visitors who'd like to enjoy viewing cherry blossom flowers.
