Ilsan Lake Park is the largest artificial lake park in Asia. The lake's surface area is approximately 300,000 square metres. While the total space of the park is of approximately 1,034,000 square metres.
It was designed to provide a natural-looking space for outdoor recreation in an urban area that is isolated from natural water and trees. There are over 100 different kinds of wild flowers, a forest with more than 200,000 trees, and a healthy population of red-crowned cranes.
The park is popular as a family picnic spot and school field trip destination. Its wide range of facilities include a waterfront square, an artificial island, a 4.7-km connecting bike path, a parking lot (capacity: 1,050 cars), three playgrounds, a nature experience center, and a music fountain. The lake park also hosts Goyang Korea Flower Show and other fairs and exhibitions. It is also filming location for drama Star's Lover.
