The museum is established on October 2005 to give visitors opportunities to better understand the history and traditions of the police service at a closer distance. The museum also serves as an educational institution for children.
The Korean National Police Heritage Museum has extensive historical information about the police from the Joseon Dynasty to current times to help children better understand the police service. It also has experience hall, where police officers can answer questions from the visitors. Visitors can experience police equipment in this hall.
